Imagine kids being told they can't perform their Christmas pageant in the town square. That's what the Mayor tells the six main children in this 41-minute musical. Eventually we meet Lovey and Thurston, an elegant upscale couple who agree the pageant brings too much traffic to the area and fear their yard decorations being trampled. The kids decide to go door-to-door caroling to ask neighbors to phone the Mayor and request that he change his mind. They also meet a trendy couple that celebrate everything and a sweet mother who is a believer and gladly wants to help. The kids know it's going to take a miracle. There are 14 total speaking parts and ten songs. This is a good "play within a play" as it incorporates the Christmas story. The music is great with a good combination of traditional and new music.
